Zaidu Sanusi moving to greater heights

The stocks of the potential new Super Eagles left back Zaidu Sanusi continues to rise as he is heavily linked to a move away from the Portuguese Primera Liga to a more glamorous league.

German club Arminia Bielefeld, who will next season play in the Bundesliga, are said to be in pole position to sign the Santa Clara left full back , who has been sensational this season. In fact, the German club are said to have agreed a transfer fee with Santa Clara for the defender.

The versatile Sanusi, who is usually a left back by trade, can also play in central defence or even as a defensive midfielder.

He has been blistering in his performances at Santa Clara after time at Gil Vicente and Mirandela, both in Portugal.

Having scored 1 goal in 18 appearances in the league, the 23 year old's displays has attracted interest from several top clubs including title-chasing FC Porto. Additionally, he is said to have come attracted the attention of Gernot Rohr who is expected to extend a Super Eagles invitation to him soon.

In certain quarters, the left fullback position for the Super Eagles is still very much up for grabs as the likes of Jamilu Collins and Brian Idowu have not really overly been convincing in their overall performances.

Zaidu is one of the players being pencilled down to bring calm to that position.
