Reflection of Iwobi's last Premier League match

Everton continued their impressive run under caretaker coach Duncan Ferguson whose side drew 1:1 impressively away to Manchester United last weekend as Alex Iwobi’s seach for his second league goal of the season continues. The Nigeria international started this game as he had done in the previous match which underpinned the faith the coach has in him. Rating him in this match, whoscored.com awarded Iwobi 6.65 which is sort of consistent with ratings elsewhere in a performance that saw Iwobi play very well in the first half but pale off in the second. An Internet platform offered this appraisal: “Alex Iwobi 5/10 Didn’t close down James for the goal, but nearly assisted Richarlison with a lovely ball. His work rate fell away late in the game.” Liverpool Echo had this to say: “Iwobi 6/10: Put in a beautiful delivery that almost supplied Richarlison and then again for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Had a strong spell before fading in the second-half.” Everton will battle Leicester on Wednesday 18 December in League Cup Quarter finals where Iwobi would be expected to start and put up a stronger performance. He would also be facing his Super Eagles brothers Iheanacho and Ndidi – whether Iheanacho will start or feature is anybody’s guess.
