Onuachu, Ajayi and Ekong set to be jettisoned; Iheanacho and Akpoguma poised to start

It is being reported in certain media platforms that coach Gernot Rohr will ring changes to the team that lost 1:0 to Algeria in the high profile friendly match played on Friday. Nigeria will face Tunisia on 13 October, just four days after the Algeria match in a friendly encounter in which many fans are expecting an improvement on the 1:0 loss to the Desert Foxes. Depending on which platform you read, some are predicting that the trio of Ekong, Ajayi and Onuachu will be dropped from the starting line up due to their slightly subpar performances against Algeria. Other observers are speculating that perhaps Chukwueze and Kalu will give way on the flanks for Ejuke and Musa to start. It has to be recalled that Kalu and Chukwueze were effectively tamed by the Algerians. Iheanacho is being rumoured to expect to start whilst Akpoguma is touted to take the starting position of Ekong in the heart of defence.

These, obviously, are all speculations at this point. The Super Eagles will be seeking to do a double on the Tunisians having defeated them 1:0 in the 3rd place playoff in last year’s Afcon. Copyright Notice © : unauthorised use of this material is strictly prohibited.
