Nigeria Midfielder Halimat Ayinde Marches Into Champions League Group Stages

2014 Africa Cup of Nations winning attacking midfielder Halimat Ayinde is basking in the success of Champions League Group Stages qualification after her club Rosengård overcame Brann 3:1 yesterday to progress 4:2 on aggregate.

Bredgaard put Rosengård ahead in 50 minutes before Larsson added spice to their jollof rice with her delicious brace in 55 and 70 minutes. Brochmann's goal for Brann in 80 minutes only served as consolation as the game was well beyond them at that stage.

Halimat Ayinde, the 27 year old vastly experienced Nigeria midfielder, who was rooted to the bench in the first leg a fortnight ago, was a 79 minute substitute in yesterday's win.

Nigeria now has three players in this year’s Uefa Champions League after Christie Ucheibe's Benfica joined Asisat Oshoala's Barcelona.
