Falconets Lead The Pack: Nigeria 2: Uganda 0
The Falconets have been undeniably fabulous, irrepressible and unstoppable in this Africa Games Women’s football tournament.
In just three games, they have bagged 8 goals and conceded none to be the only undefeated team in the tournament and the only ones to have clean sheets.
Against obdurate Uganda in the semi-finals, substitutes Okah Adaobi in 74 minute and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in 89 minutes turned out to be game changers with babelicious goals. The Ugandans put up respectable resistance but the Falconets were too hot for them to handle.
However I think they will be facing Ghana in the final as I expect the hosts to dispatch with Senegal in their semi final encounter.
This will afford Coach Chris Danjuma the opportunity to avenge last year’s WAFU U-20 final loss to the same Ghana in the same country.
If we strike Gold, Nigeria will extend her dominance in these games with 4 Winners medals with Ghana and Cameroon further behind in our rear view mirror with measly 1 group Gold medals against their names.
Well done to Danjuma and his girls for qualifying for the final and good luck to them in that game.
