Unconfirmed reports reaching Afrofooty indicate that Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Alampasu might be on the verge of joining an East Europen side.
The 23 year old, who was in the Super Eagles squads for a number of 2018 World Cup qualifiers, has been clubless since the start of the season having been released by his erstwhile club Feirense of Portugal.
The 2013 U-17 winning goalkeeper had been in Nigeria training by himself as his agent continued looking for a new club for him.
It was said that a Nigeria Professional Football League club was interested in his services but Alampasu elected to turn this down and wait for a club abroad to show interest.
It appears that has now happened.
Alapamsu is reportedly on trials with Ventspils of Latvia who played against Dinamo Moscow in a friendly on 5 February 2020.
It is suggested that he is giving a good account of his goalkeeping skills.
If he does secure a contract, Alapamsu will be hoping to play more regular football and hopefully work his way back to the national team.
