Iheanacho : should he pack his bags and run to Turkey?

It brings tears to the eyes to see the talents of a once supremely talented footballer like Kelechi Iheanacho wasting away in the benches of Leicester city week in week out.

In fact, the Under 17 World Cup winner has regressed to the point of not even being guaranteed a spot in Leicester's match day bench week in week out in the English Premier League (let alone starting).

This week, it was reported that Turkish giants Galastasaray are lining up a potential winter move for the 23 year old, who is yet to make a league appearance for Leicester City this season.

So, if that move sees the light of day, should Iheanacho move to Turkey?

The truth is, be it Austria, Scotland, Russia or Turkey, Iheanacho badly needs playing time!

Looking at a player like Sadiq Umar; okay Serbia is not an ideal location. But he is playing regularly and scoring goals, even in the Europa league!

That is doing his confidence and career opportunities a world of good.

At this stage, it’s not the location that matters, it’s finding a club that fits. A club that will guarantee playing time. Iheanacho needs to leave Leicester to play regularly in a decent or half-decent league.

Only that way will he be able to revive his fading career.
