Funsho Bamgboye Shines in Europa League First Round Qualifiers

Super Eagles hopeful Funsho Bamgboye, who has been quick off the block in the Hungarian Premier League this season with 2 assists in his first game, was very active in his team's Europa League first round qualifying triumph on August 27. The match had ended 1:1 after extra time with Fehervar FC of Hungary eventually overcoming Bohemians of Ireland on penalties 5:4 thereby marching to the next phase of the qualifiers. Nigeria's Funsho Bamgboye was in the mood for this match as he narrowly missed the target with a decent effort as early as the 10th minute.

As Keith Ward's goal put the Bohemians 1:0 in 22 minutes, Bamgboye tried to drag his team back into the match with another decent drive in 35 minutes but the effort came short. Nemanja Nicolics then brought the match level with a fine finish for Fehervar in 37 minutes to make it 1:1. And that it stayed all through extra-time before Fehervar won on penalties to power them to the next round of qualifiers. Bamgboye, who played the 120 minutes, was not involved in the penalty shootout. The 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup winner will be hoping to post sterling performances in the domestic and continental scenes as season plays out.
