Despite rumours making the rounds that he might be considering his international future, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho might very well be featuring in the upcoming Super Eagles friendlies.
Local media are speculating that he is on is way to the Super Eagles camp due to unavailability of some of the goalkeepers penciled down for the games. First choice Maduka Okoye pulled out due to an alleged shoulder injury while his replacement, Isreal based Adebayo Adeleye is having visa glitches.
Uzoho last kept for Nigeria in March's doomed World Cup qualifiers where his howler contributed to gifting the garrulous Ghanaians the world cup ticket. His fortunes in club football haven't faired particularly better as he has found game time hard to come by in Cyprus.
Super Eagles fans are itching to see what other goalkeepers have to offer. Homebased net minders Adeyinka and Olorunleke are already in camp. It will be great to see what they can offer.
The match against Mexico is set for the 28th of May whilst the one against Ecuador is set for 2nd of June. These would be the first engagements of Jose Peseiro as the official head coach of the Super Eagles.
Nigeria are embarking on a period of restoration and recovery as they hope to banish the pain of World Cup qualifier elimination.
