Former Golden Eaglets hat-trick hero signs for Danish club



Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Ibrahim Said has signed a deal until 2024 with Danish side Viborg FF, the club announced.


The youngster scored a hat-trick for the Golden Eaglets in a 3-2 victory over Ecuador at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.


Ibrahim who hailed from Dabo Babes Academy in Nigeria has signed for the club before the end of the transfer window but the deal was delayed because he could not get a work Visa.


According to Jesper Fredberg, the manager of Viborg - he described the youngster as an offensive player with raw potential.


Also, he admitted that the club is aware that it might take the youngster some time to settle in Europe but believes in their system which allows young players to thrive.


“We see Ibrahim Said as a very interesting offensive player with a really exciting raw potential, we hope and believe in being able to release with us."


"We are well aware that it is a big step for a young man to move to Europe, so we must also have patience, but we believe that we have got a strong setup to develop young players, and we have high expectations for him in the long run."


"He is a player who can cover several offensive positions, is technically proficient, and then he has shown at the U17 World Cup that he can also get the product on his actions."


"We believe that he fits in well with our way of playing, and we look forward to seeing him in the green jersey.”


Said is the first player to score three goals at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Russia.
