According to 90s legendary Super Falcons star Rita Nwadike: "The Super Falcons have quality players, experienced professionals and a good technical crew (headed by coach Madugu)".
To be honest, I cannot but agree with this legend. Everywhere you look across the park, the Super Falcons have quality players shepherded by a coach who knows how to bring the best out in their capabilities at this level.
They won the last tournament in sumptuous style and with a brilliant brand of football that the team has totally bought into.
The team played with a sense of verisimilitude which I no doubt expect them to carry over to this year's Mundial in Morocco.
“Representing Nigeria comes with great responsibility, but I know these girls understand what is at stake", said Rita Nwadike.
With qualification for next year's world cup at stake with the chance, under Madugu, to play a more progressive brand of football with the penumbra of panache hovering around it, indeed the players know what is at stake and they will stop at nothing to grab the world cup ticket from the thicket of challenge they will face whilst reclaiming their Wafcon crown in the process.
