Super Eagles defender, Benjamin Tanimu has sealed a move to English League One club Crawley Town.

So many Nigerian players sadly languish from one backwater league to another. But to move from Tanzanian League to League One in England is progress, whichever way you slice it.

So I am very happy for Tanimu. If he plays his cards well, stays focused and fortune shines on him, he could step up to play in the English Championship or Scottish Premiership next season (should he secure a transfer) .

A very hard working and dynamic centre-back (who can also punch the clock as a wing-back) with decent marking and interception skills, Tanimu produced professionally acceptable performances in his 4 caps for the Super Eagles colours.

Will he now earn future caps for his country?

Playing in England will afford him greater visibility and make watching highlights of his games more accessible.

I will have no problem for his continued invitation to the Super Eagles.

Although third tier, League One in England is highly competitive, professionally run, and intensely rigorous in keeping players on their toes and raising the quality of their game.

Good luck to Tanimu!
