Coach Bankole Selects A Remorseless Squad To Roast Ethiopia


Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has unveiled 22 players for Friday’s all important FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualification final round, first leg match between Nigeria and Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.


The delegation will depart Nigerian shores on Wednesday. After home-and-away annihilations of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Egypt, the Flamingos have a final fence to scale in unpredictable Ethiopia ; a team that sensationally sent South Africa’s girls to the gallows in the penultimate round of qualifiers. Olowookere’s girls are themselves merciless having scored 14 goals unrequited goals in their four qualifying matches so far. The young Nigerian mercenaries gunned down DR Congo 8-0 on aggregate before shelling Egypt a hail of 6-0 aggregate in the third round. Friday’s hostilities will hold at the Abebe Bekila Stadium in Addis Ababa starting from 4pm Ethiopia time (2pm Nigeria time) with the final confrontation already scheduled for the National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, 4th June.
