It is no longer news that the Super Falcons of Nigeria will trade shots with the United States of America women's team in a double header friendlies billed for September this year.
These matches will come just before the Falcons’ encounter with former Women’s World Cup Champions Japan in October.
Recall that that the Nigerian damsels also played World Cup Contenders Canada earlier this year. Kudos to whomever is organising this truly impressive world class friendlies for our serial Wafcon winners.
This is a step in the right direction for the Super Falcons ahead of next year's world cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Under American gaffer Randy Waldrum, the Super Falcons have faced teams placed high in FIFA rankings 5 times without a single win. They will be hoping to put this right against USA and Japan in these scheduled friendlies.
To be among the best, a team has to beat the best. Will Waldrum's Falcons be able to beat the best? The answer will become clearer in the coming months .
