Keen to play regular football which could open the door to Super Eagles invitation, former Under-20 captain Ikouwem Utin has reportedly joined fellow Israeli top division side Hapoel Hadera from Maccabi Haifa (where he struggled for game time).
The highly rated left back, who already has 3 caps for Nigeria, is expected by many to stake a claim for the left fullback position for the national team.
Even if he does get to play regular football, the 20 year old has a mountain to climb to displace established members of the national team like Ola Aina and Jamilu Collins who play in more glamorous leagues.
Still, eye catching performances in his new club for the former Eyimba defender could make him a bit hard to ignore. It is safe to say that the likes of Jamilu Collins and Brian Idowu haven't been overly impressive, leaving the left fullback position of the Super Eagles still very much up for grabs.
Udoh will pray to play well in his new club and for coach Rohr to give him a chance to prove himself.
The Akwa Ibom born fullback was part of the U20 team of Nigeria that failed to go beyond the round of 16 at the 2019 World Youth Championship which took place in Poland.
