Can Croatia Based Jonathan Zaccala Zoom His Way Back Into National Team Football Reckoning?

Nigeria Italy-born goalkeeper Jonathan Osegoagbon Zaccala has joined Croatian second division side NK Zagorec from HASK Zagreb where he struggled for game-time.

The former Nigeria U20 shot stopper linked up with his new team for an undisclosed fee.

The 21 year old gloves-man was part of the Flying Eagles team to the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.

Despite his promising start in youth football which brought him to national team reckoning, Zaccala's career hasn't really taken off. He was clubless for a while since going to the U-20 world cup with Nigeria in 2019. After moving to Croatia in 2021, he was unable to nail down a permanent shirt in the two clubs he signed for.

He will be hoping to turn his fortune around in NK Zagorec with healthy game-time that should help showcase his immense skills which include competent distribution, catching, diving, movement and timing aptitudes.

His young age makes Zaccala a valuable asset for Nigeria's Under-23 and the Super Eagles in the not too distant future once he settles down in club football and he produces spellbinding saves on a regular basis.
