Can Chidi Harmony and The Flamingos Announce Themselves As World Beaters In Morocco?

Head Coach Hakeem Busari, who is aiming to grab the lapels of tournament triumph by the neck, has invited 26 players to the camp of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, as preparations swell for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco which commences on 17 October.

Will Chidi Harmony and The Flamingos Mount Mightily in Morocco?

Chidi Harmony has an opportunity to shine in this tournament. Many of us have earmarked her to take over the torch of greatness, glamour and shine from the ever-green Asisat Oshoala in seasons to come.

I would even ween that Harmony is the most technically gifted tactically grounded centre forward this country would ever see. What is left is for her to ‘keep her head on the swivel’ to not be easily distracted or derailed and never allow herself to be ‘caught lacking’ in front of goal or in practice sessions that sharpen her skills.

The rest of this squad look like highly capable assemblage of supremely determined ensemble, ‘all-told’. I think those who will be whittled down to represent Nigeria in the tournament will do so with pride, focus, determination. Those left behind will announce themselves big in future national team squads.

Good luck to Coach Busari and the Girls.
