It was indeed an important away win as Benin proved a worthy opposition. The Francophone players troubled Nigeria's defence, as they came close to scoring on several occasions.
Madugu's high line and overlapping fullback tactics were almost punished as Benin capitalised on these to create credible scoring chances.
Ohale's diminished pace was exposed by Benin strikers who ran behind her to school at goal but some of those efforts were weak.
Plumptre' s limited pace was also exploited by the opposition.
Madugu showed continuity as he largely kept faith with his Wafcon winning start 11, proving that he rewards high performance with unwavering loyalty.

The trio of Okoronkwo, Ijamilusi and Ihezuo are becoming a fearsome force in African football as they peppered Benin defence to continue from where they left off at the Wafcon.
Super Falcons played with authority and intent with or without the ball. The first goal scored was a masterpiece in precision passes and team play as 9 outfield Super Falcons players touched the ball before Okoronkwo stabbed home.
Long ball strategy was still in situ, leading to the 2 goals scored. 4-3-3 formation was employed to suppress Benin and manufacture the win.

Communication breakdown almost led to a goal being conceded but Benin paid a heavy price for being naive at this stage.
In all, the style of play, and manner of victory meant the Super Falcons mean business in hoping to retain their Wafcon crown.
But inability to score in the second half and glaring defensive lapses here and there will be a source of mild concern.
