Akpeyi, Mikel Agu and Ahmed Musa return to the Super Eagles

Extra, extra, read all about it : Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has recalled the trio of Ahmed Musa, Daniel Akpeyi and Mikel Agu for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Benin and Lesotho.

Mikel Agu hasn't been part of the team shortly before the Afcon in Egypt while Musa and Akpeyi have been out of the squad since the Afcon concluded.

Agu brings a wealth of midfield experience and presence while Musa brings firepower to the flanks. Akpeyi, who has earned critical acclaim in South Africa for recent powerful performances in the league, should now man the post in the absence of injured Uzoho.

The 2021 Afcon qualifiers will be played in November.
