Before talking about Lookman and Simon, it would be interesting to try to gauge how Coach Eric Chelle will tactically approach the world cup playoffs.
I think the Malian will stick to his signature 4-1-3-2 cum 4-4-2 for this encounter.
Many thanks to this Tactical Tuareg, I have come to believe in the Super Eagles being able to play with only 2 centre backs, reverting to 3 only when Ekong and Awaziem are in town.
On that note, I will start with Fredricks and Bassey in centre back. Zaidu and Osayi-Samuel will be the fullbacks.
Nwabali keeps his place, for now. (But my preference is Amas Obasoki – don’t tell anybody o!!).
Ndidi is the sole defensive midfielder, supported by Iwobi in front and to the side of him when needed.
Simon starts on the left and Chukwueze on the right of our flanks.
It’s a no brainer up front: Osihmen partners Adams.

But, there’s a problem. Back then in England, Late Coach Eriksson struggled to bench any of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in midfield: megastar midfielders for effective in individuality for Liverpool and Chelsea in the EPL, a useless in combination for England in international football.
Then, Peseiro, now Chelle faces the headache of wanting to play Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman at the same time which renders the right wing of the team to be a waste land, rather than the fertile ground for Chukwueze to germinate.
If Lookman and Simon are fit, Chukwueze and the Super Eagles will suffer.
How will Chelle manage this conundrum?
