Akpeyi continues to have a decent season

Super Eagles dependable back-up goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi had a reasonably impressive first match of the year despite letting in just a single goal in his team's 0:1 loss to Bloem Celtic on 04 January 2019.

The Chippa United net-minder, who has not conceded more than 2 goals in any league match this season, made some point-blank saves in the match and dived low to keep out a goal bound effort later on.

However, he was beaten by a delicious chip which he can only watch go over him in the second half after the dangerous high-line kept by his defence left him mercilessly exposed.

All in all, Akpeyi gave a good account of himself and will be hoping to keep a clean sheet - his first in the last 6 matches - when they play against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday 8 January.
