Venue doesn't matter; Super Eagles will soar in 2019 AFCON - Ighalo

With Cameroon stripped of the hosting rights for the 2019 African Cup of Nations due to poor preparation and CAF expected to name a new host country soon, Super Eagles lethal striker Odion Ighalo believes that Nigeria will go far in the tournament regardless of which country eventually gets the hosting rights.

Speaking to journalist during a recent event, the China based sharp shooter said: "Whether the championship is held in Egypt or South Africa, we will be ready. We have the advantage of having been together for sometime now, with the bulk of the team having played at the World Cup. Qualifying for the AFCON has also made us believe very much in our ability and of course, the Nigerian Spirit is always there to propel us in difficult times.

We are all aware of what Nigerians expect from us. We will prepare hard and strive to deliver."

Ighalo, who presently has six goals in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers, has now banished his hitherto reputation as being a poor striker for the Super Eagles has he now has now banged in 10 goals in 25 appearances for the national team.
