Why is Ozornwafor not enjoying success in Spain?

Promising Nigeria Centre Defender Valentine Ozornwafor will leave Spanish Segunda side, Almeria at the end of his loan deal. In Almeria's matches played so far this season, Ozornwafor has made just two substitute appearances, totalling 92 minutes.

He is now expected to be sent back to his parent club Galastasaray who will surely have to look for another club to loan him to as the 20 year old has not gained the experience needed to feature in the senior team.

A Turkish journalist remarked that: "Valentine has performed below expectation this season and Almeria won’t be exercising their purchase option of €1.8m to buy the player outrightly.”

On his own part, Ozornwafor has lamented language barrier as one of the problems he faced in Spain saying (according to brilla fm): "It has been difficult I must say, playing in a position that is essential that you need to communicate with your fellow teammates.

You speak to people to organize your team, to organize the defense line you need to speak, it has been difficult for me honestly it has!"

Ozornwafor should not find it difficult to find another club but expectations were high that he would perform well in Spain.

It's back to the drawing board for a defender who will be hoping to break into the Super Eagles squad in the not-too-distant future.
