Waldrum Complains of Nigeria's Poor World Cup Preparations

Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum is most unhappy about his team’s build up to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the summer in Australia and New Zealand.

“I know we are not prepared the way we need to be,” Waldrum said in a recent interview.

“(I’ve) been very frustrated with the federation (NFF) and the lack of support. We were supposed to have a camp in Nigeria for another 10 to 15 days, but the federation cancelled the camp in Nigeria.” He concluded.

It remains to be seen how far his stunning utterances will damage his relationship with the NFF or if it will stun them to action in supporting the team more robustly.

The Super Falcons, who have attended all the World Cups since inception, are in Group B alongside Australia, Republic of Ireland and Canada.

It is a tough group but, according to Waldrum, Nigeria hasn't been tough enough in priming and preparations.
