Super Falcons Hopeful Striker Taiwo Lawal has seen better days in front of goal.
Mexico's Mazatlán FC Femenil announced the signing of Nigeria International and former Falconets forward Lawal Taiwo in June this year following a fabulous season in Turkey for Ünye Gücü FK.
Born in Lagos, Taiwo wiped the floor with opposition defenders in Turkey, scoring 10 goals in total last season with 5 of these coming from one match; cementing her status as one of its standout performers, drawing interest from scouts across Europe, and eventually earning a move to the Mexico side in June.

A few months later.....
Taiwo has been benched 2 times, totally excluded 1 time and largely featured as a sub in the 6 games played thus far by her Mexican club this season.
Worst still, she is yet to find the back of the net and the club itself is yet to win a single match, ouch!
It is a spectacularly wretched turn of events for a striker tipped by some to bulldoze her way into the Super Falcons squad and topple the likes of Oshoala and Onumonu.

At this rate, it is her chances of cementing a place in the Super Falcons team that is being toppled.
Is Taiwo Lawal regretting moving to Mexico? Who knows. It's early days though.
Her fortune and that of her club might yet turn around for the better. If not, her chances of making the Super Falcons set up in the short-term might go up in smoke.
