NWFL Hotshot Striker Abasiofon Uwah: Setting Records With Reckless Abandon

From relative obscurity to unimaginable ubiquity, Abasiofon Uwah has rapidly ascended from a spring chicken to the top dog of the Rivers Angels' attack, asserting herself as perhaps the most clinical finisher in the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season, and her best is yet to come.

Uwah’s most tangible impact has seen her hug the scoreboard like a lover that is unwilling to let go. By the conclusion of the first stanza, she emerged as the league’s top scorer with seven ruthlessly taken goals.

Her uncanny ability to consistently find the back of the net with reckless abandon has been the primary engine behind Rivers Angels' climb to the top of Group A.

The 17 year old sharpshooter made history in January 2026 by recording the first hat-trick of the season, thereby forging a fresh ring to an ever lengthening chain of laudable achievements for the budding superstar.

Uwah’s consistency earned her the NWFL Player of the Month award for January and a spot in the NWFL Best XI for the first stanza.

As a Falconets megafan, I look forward to seeing her in Nigeria national team colours in the not-too-distant future.
