Falconets star striker Janet ‘Semenya’ Akekoromowei will now be sidelined for at least eight weeks after she dislocated her ankle in a 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
An MRI scan has revealed that ‘Semenya’ will be out of action for several weeks after the injury that forced her out of a first leg qualifier against Senegal in Abeokuta last week.

The injury kept the striker out of the return leg qualifier in Senegal which the Falconets aced to push through to the final round of qualifiers.
‘Semenya’ is a transfer target for several top European clubs.
