Is Felix Agu Worth The Hype?

The German Football Association this week affirmed that Left Fullback Felix Agu, 25 years old, only played two friendlies for Germany U21s in 2019, hence eligible to play for Nigeria.

It begs the question: Is this big deal?

The Super Eagles have struggled in defence of late, however, this has been more prevalent in centre defence.

The Super Eagles' left fullback department is not an area of weakness. But, Coach Eric Chelle has not deployed Bruno Onyemaechi in any match leading to speculation that the coach wants someone else.

Now he has Agu who comes with a wealth of German football experience at a high level.

Fans will now hope to see him play for Nigeria against Ghana Tuesday in London as Eric Chelle prepares for crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa in September.
