Ikechukwu Ezenwa: prepared for Super Eagles challenges

After conceding only 1 goal in his last 4 league games for Heatlands in the NPFL, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is poised to be included in the Super Eagles squad for upcoming matches. But, rather than jump for joy that this hugely experienced goalkeeper can be called upon for his country when needed, some continue to question the wisdom of adding his name to the list of Super Eagles goalkeepers. But why, I ask? Ezenwa's first game for the Super Eagles came in January 2016 in a 1:1 draw against mighty Tunisia in which he kept for 90 minutes. He will follow this up against a decent Togo side in 2017 where we won 3:0. To date, Ezenwa has represented Nigeria (excluding Chan Eagles) 9 times, 4 of those being wins, 3 draws 1 loss and 1 disqualification (against Algeria in 2017). In 9 games (excluding Chan matches), Ezenwa has conceded only 5 times as we played heavyweights like Zambia and Cameroon. They are impressive stats. The 31 year old is a former youth International and first choice homebased goalkeeper. So, my question stands: what is all the fuss about if Ezenwa is invited to the Super Eagles?
