Iheanacho rated highly in Leicester cup win

Mooted celebration by striker struggling for gametime

Super Eagles under-used striker, who is yet to feature for Leicester in the English Premier League this season, made it 2 goals in 2 cup games yesterday when he latched on to a cross to score the first goal for his team.

His goal came in 7 minutes which set the tone for his team as Youri Tielemans made it 2:0 in 20 minutes. Burton's 52nd minute goal by Liam Boyce was replied with another Leicester goal by James Maddison in 89 minutes as Leicester raced comfortably to the next round with a 3:1 scoreline.

Rating Iheanacho after the match, Jordan Blackwell writing for Leicestermecury.co.uk said: " 8/10: One of the best performances of his (Kelechi) Leicester City career.

He was sharp in possession, holding the ball up well with superb close control, and showed composure to take his big chance."

The Assistant Team Manager at Leicester Chris Davies also alluded to the quality of Iheanacho and other fringe players as he said on bbc.co.uk:"You saw the strength of the squad tonight and the performance was good.

We've not done it just to give them a bit of game-time, we've done it because we trust them. We know they've got the quality to deliver the performance and the result for us."
