Super Falcons midfielder Halimat Ayinde stills hopes to join compatriot Asisat Oshoala in the group stages of this year’s Uefa Champions league after her club's 1:1 away draw against Brann FC in yesterday's first leg final qualifiers.
Svava Ros had put the hostesses ahead in 20 minutes with a neat finish before Olivier drew Rosengård level in 78 minutes which would have delighted Ayinde on the bench.
Now Ayinde and her Rosengård team mates have home advantage next week in the return fixture where the aggregate winners will qualify for the Champions League group stages.
Halimat, whose reckless tackle led to her dismissal which contributed to Nigeria's painful loss in the Wafcon semifinal encounter against Morocco this year, has been recalled to the squad to face Japan in October.
