Electrifying Gloves-girl Oloko Fatima, a rising goalkeeping star in the NWFL, is leaping to the stars in superlative style this season after her performance in MD12 summarised a fabulous season of fabulous saves.
The Abia Angels' elastically eclectic netminder produced a clean sheet in her team's' 1–0 away victory over Osun Babes at the Lanlereke Sports Centre, in a display that could simply not be ignored in some fine saves she made and how artistically commanding she was between the sticks.
The 18 year old 6.1 inches goalie, known for her cat-like reflexes, has had a standout 2025/2026 season with Abia Angels by measurable measures: she has recorded no fewer than 5 clean sheets so far this season (4 heading into March plus the most recent one against Osun Babes); She was named the NWFL Best Goalkeeper for Week 7 following a heroic performance in another 1–0 away win, that time against Delta Queens in Asaba.
And her best is yet to come.
Despite being only 18 years old (born February 2, 2008), this cat with more than 9 lives has become the backbone of an Abia Angels defense that has kept them in the hunt for a Super Six (championship round) spot.
She was recently invited to the national team, where she was pictured all smiles linking up with her idol Chiamaka Nnadozie.

For about 5 years now, I have been tracking young Nigerian goalkeepers who could probably take the baton of immense responsibility from Nnadozie. From Faith Omilana, Monle Oyono, Shukura Bakare to Linda Jiwuaku, none of them has taken the bull by the horns, none of them has grasp the nettle, none of them has seized the moment!

All eyes are now squarely locked on Fatima to push past the crowd of contenders and grab the opportunity with both gloves in the national team when it presents itself on a green platter.
For now, Fatima continues to cut a wide swath in the domestic scene with swashbuckling, sumptuously superb performances week-in week-out as her wingspan makes her goalpost a no-fly zone for erring balls from despondent opposition strikers who are often left licking their wounds after Fatima had made their thunderous shots at goal look like harmless snowflakes.
