Can Joy Omewa Take The English League By Storm For Nottingham Forest?

To be honest, I don't know much about Joy Omewa. So, I asked AI if indeed she is a credible Super Falcons striker.

AI said" Joy Omewa is not only credible; as of 2026, she has become one of the most exciting attacking prospects for Nigeria."

I was like: wow! Exciting prospect for Nigeria keh? This response really whetted my appetite, so I dug for more.

Apparently, Joy, 23 years old, was a prolific goal scorer in Denmark where she recorded 52 goals from 85 games in the '24-'25 season.

She was voted the Danish League Player of the Season and finished as the league's top scorer.

Her consistency is also legendary as, at one point in late 2025, the Yoruba sniper maintained an incredible 8-game scoring streak across all competitions, including the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers.

Apparently, this ferocious Falcon brings a mix of raw pace and a "fox-in-the-box" finishing instinct with the claws in her shooting boots.

In England, for Nottingham Forest which she secured a transfer to this January, she should have the perfect platform to hone her skills and predatory instincts even further.

For those of us worrying about the ageing hue of the Super Falcons striker force, Omewa brings hope as a one of a fresh generation of Super Falcons strikers, ready to fill the boots left vacant by Ifeoma Onumonu and Desire Oparanozie.

Hopefully coach Madugu will compose the Wafcon-bound Super Falcons team as a salubrious blend of youth and experience.

If so, another victorious Wafcon campaign awaits.
