Bosso Planning To Unleash Deadly Sharpshooters For U-20 Afcon

The jostle for places as the arrow head of Flying Eagles' striker attacking positions continues to apace in the run up to next month's Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Nigeria U20 Gaffer Ladan Bosso initially penciled down 11 players classed as strikers on a 35-man training camp roster. Among them are: Jude Sunday (Realsaphier FC); Ifesinachi Obiakwu (36 Lions); Adams Olalekan (Remo Stars); Emma Ochegbu (Plateau United); Haliru Sarki (Maikunkele FC); Christogonus Ibe (Chukwuebuka FC); Faruk Salami (Ikorodu City); Segun Otusanoya; Ayuba Francis (Nasarawa United); Promise Bernard (FAME FC) and Shatima Abani (Plateau United).

To further ensure that the most frightening Nigerian strikers are selected, regardless of place of birth or present domicile, the gauntlet was then thrown down to foreign based attackers to come lay claim to tickets to Egypt.

It is reported that two precocious dual nationality attackers in the books of English clubs, Crystal Palace's Ademola Ola-Adebomi and Norwich City's Kenny Coker, were beckoned.

Ola-Adebomi is currently a high flier in the youth team of his club with silky goals and overall compelling centre forward play while Cooker is said to be moving up the ranks of club youth football in impressive fashion.

Nigeria born KAA Gent striker (and 2022 U-20 Wafu B hero) Ahmed Abdullahi is also in the middle of mix.

Several other dual nationality or indegenous foreign based players have been linked to the Flying Eagles in recent weeks. The significant snag remains whether or not their clubs will allow them to link up with the team for this competition.

If Nigeria eventually qualifies for the actual world cup, that will be a different story.
