Former Golden Eaglets U-17 World Cup winning striker Isaac Success joined Al Wasl of United Arab Emirates on a free transfer last week following the termination of his contract with Udinese in Italy.
Show me the money!
Congratulations to Isaac Success. This is a fabulous move from the standpoint of where Isaac Success is in, in his football career at the moment.
With limited to near non-existent chance of reviving his Super Eagles career, perhaps it’s time to focus largely on lining his pocket for life post-football. He rarely scored goals in club football hence he would have expected to struggle attracting credible interests from reputable clubs in Europe.
Isaac Success is a brand, and a beautiful one. A world cup winner in U17 football with modest career in top European leagues when he was injury-free, Success has a solid marketing foundation to pitch his tent upon.

And he is nailing his tent in the rich oil sands of the East. And I am very happy for him as this smacks of being a shrewd move.
One has to be realistic and adjust ones ambitions accordingly.
I wish Isaac Success all the luck in the world in UAE. When I saw him in Udinese, he looked, slim, nimble, fit, not the fat boy he ballooned into several seasons back.
Based on the lower quality of the United Arab Emirates league compared to European leagues, the 28 year old centre forward is expected to rediscover his scoring boots. But some fans will argue that any ambitions he might harbour of returning to the Super Eagles now definitely represents a hiding-to-nowhere owing to the glut of quality strikers available to Nigeria from far more competitive and credible leagues in Europe.
If he continues to work on his endurance, stamina and physicality, he will be around for a long time in club football, lining his pocket with neat cash and securing his future well beyond football.
