Several Super Falcons players continue to be active for their clubs ahead of the 2019 FIFA World Cup as lethal striker Desire Oparanozie, who scored in a recent friendly for Nigeria, featured for her club Guingamp in the French women's league during the week.
The former youth international - known to have featured for Wolfsburg in the German league - was in action for 61 minutes as her club recorded a priceless away victory against Fleury 91 on 24 April.
L Fleury had put Guingamp in front on 37 minute before doubling her team's lead on 63 minutes. Canadian footballer L. Roy reduced the deficit in 90 minutes but it was too little too late as Oparanozie's team took all 3 points with a 2:1 score line.
Guingamp now occupy 7th position in the French women's league table.
Being Nigeria's de facto number 9, a lot is riding on Oparanozie to be fit and flying at the World Cup in France.
