Ideye may return to Super Eagles Line-up

Reports reaching the editorial team of Afrofooty indicate that Brown Ideye, who is back playing football at the highest level in Spain, is set to return to the Super Eagles team ahead of up coming friendly matches in March.

The African Cup of Nations winning striker last featured for the Super Eagles in the first Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying game against Zambia in Ndola in 2016 which Nigeria won 2-1. In that match, Ideye did what he does best; providing an assist to Iheanacho's well taken goal.

Since joining Malaga in January, the 29-year-old has scored 1 goal and has terrorized defences with goal scoring efforts in four La Liga Santander games. Ideye is seen as a key member of the team having started all the matches he is eligible for, unlike his compatriot Isaac Success who is still trying to find his feet in the same club.

The Super Eagles, drawn against Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, will face Poland in Warsaw on the 23rd of March and four days later take on Serbia in London

.

Rohr is expected to announce his squad that will prosecute the games before Friday. Usual suspects like V. Moses, M. Agu and A Iwobi are expected to be included with no new faces anticipated.

Invited players are expected to arrive in Poland from 19th March for the friendlies.
