Ogbeche continues to have a prolific season

Erstwhile Nigeria International, Bartholomew Ogbeche is back to scoring ways for his club Willem II in Holland.

A 2-2 draw in the quarterfinals of the Holland Cup clash against Roda Kerkrade this week saw the 33-year old veteran of footballer pull Willem level after 39 minutes of the game.

Simon Gustafson had earlier shot their visitors into the lead from the spot. Roda were back in front three minutes after the restart but Kostantinos Tsimikas made sure that the Tilburg-based side would take the game to extra time and subsequently the much dreaded penalty shootout. William Ndenge's miss in the shootout for Roda Kerkrade proved costly as Ogbeche and his team marched to the next round. For the former Middlesbrough of England striker, the goal was his ninth in all competitions for the club this season, a tally which continued one of the most productive campaigns for the nomadic striker’s overall career.

Some have called for the national team’s handlers of Nigeria to look to his side in upcoming friendly matches. Willem II would meet either of Feyenoord, AZ Alkmaar or FC Twente in the semifinals of the competition.
